Let the Holidays Begin!
We are finally out of school for Christmas holidays. I feel like it is REALLY Christmas now. Here is a photo of our tree. We put it up right after Thanksgiving (at my children's insistence) and have been enjoying it since then.
Here is Cabalito, the trusted assistant. He makes sure we do everything right. He is such a good boy! Oh, I forgot, he was a bad boy last night. He found a giant Hershey's kiss (the really huge novelty size), that my daughter didn't know was in her room, last night. He ate some of it and was running around with it in his mouth. It was almost as big as his head. Since chocolate is poisonous to dogs we were a little concerned and had to catch him to take it away. But he is fine.
I made this small quilt several years ago. I could not resist because it says "Joy" and my daughter's name is Joy. I love that the letters are made from Christmas objects.
Isn't my Christmas cactus beautiful? I bought it this year and it has bloomed constantlIy for about two weeks now. I have four different colors now. Red, fuchsia, lavendar, and white.
I found out last night that my SSCS benefactor is Jodie B. from Australia. I cannot wait to open my gift but I am holding out until Christmas Day. Jodie, if you are reading this, I cannot tell you how excited I am!! I will post photos of the gift as soon as I open it.

Julie;
Looking at your pictures, I know Christmas is here!
Cute little helper you have there!
Everything looks just great at your place, I SOO SOO glad you got that chocolate from the dog we had our dog in dogie hospital a good few years ago now from eating too much choc my grandaugher fed it to her without anybody knowing so when she started fitting we didnt know to tell the vet she'd had choc till little miss 4 said bet she ate too much lollies thats when we questioned her and it was a quick ph call to our vet.
Julie...I love your table. I could sit right down there and have a cup of coffee. It makes me wish I had made some Christmas placemats instead of making big quilts.....next year I'll have Christmas placemats on my table!!! I love your Christmas cactus. A friend gave me 2 this past spring, and they are both blooming. After seeing your photo I'm bringing the one out to my kitchen table so we can enjoy it. I haven't posted in ages and just now posted about your blog award from before Thanksgiving. Thanks for it and sorry I'm so tardy. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Glad your school is out for awhile.
Hi Julie,
I found you on Rhonda's blog and thought I'd pop in for a visit. I really love that "Joy" quilt you made. You're quite talented. Your blog is very pretty too.
Well, it was nice to "meet" you. I hope you have a blessed weekend and a very Merry Christmas!

I love all your Christmas pictures, Julie. That Christmas cactus really caught my eye. My mother has one on our window but it's nowhere near as gorgeous as yours. She called it a Christmas cactus but I wasn't sure if it was right. Now you've confirmed it. I'm glad your doggie was safe after that close call with the giant chocolate.
Ooooo....So many lovely pictures! The first one that caught my eye was of Cabilito because of the rug on the floor!
And even though you meant for the Christmas cactus to be the main purpose of that pic, your placemats can NOT be ignored! How fun and cute! With three little ones, I don't even bother with placemats, but maybe someday.
Happy vacation----2 more days for me, but I'm really okay with that. They will fly by.
I enjoyed the tour, and all your lovely decorations. I hope that you enjoy your vacation and that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas.
Julie you are a good girl for not opening your parcel. I so hope you are pleased!
Jodie
Julie as usual a wonderful blog. I enjoy looking at it and your pictures are great.
Now to my question? What in the world do you feed your Christmas cactus. I have on and it is big and green but so far no blooms. I thought it was Christmas but maybe it is Easter or some other time of the year. Do you do anything special to yours?
Thank you

I love the tree, I bet it was sort of funny seeing the dog run around with giant hershey in his mouth.. no pics??? I know it can be bad for them , but I know some cocker spaniels that ate whole box of assorted chocolates and they were fine. I like the wall hanging with JOY.
Hey, you have a nice blog!
Thanks for stopping by mine and leaving such nice comments.
Love the Christmas cactus. I have one too, but it will only bloom at my mom's house! I bought it years ago and had no luck with it. I gave it to my mom and it blooms every year for her! So I go visit my plant at her house! LOL!
You look like you are all set for Christmas! Everything looks just perfect. I'm sure Santa will know just which house to come to first. You are so good to wait to open you gifts.
Lovely... lovely .... lovely!
Glad to hear you had a wonderful Christmas! Some great gifts for and from your SSCS!
Have a Happy New Year!
