Some Finishes!

I have some finishes to show you - it is about time! I finished these wool pincushions over the weekend. They are filled with sand and have a nice, heavy feel to them. The two sheep were purchased from Brenda at Pumpkin Patch Primitives. She sent me a kit in wool felt and 100% felted wool so that I would be able to see the difference. The 100% wool is so much nicer to work with but more expensive. The wool felt looks nice and is less expensive so I can make more of those! LOL. The rabbit is from a Fons and Porter magazine project. I found some old scraps of wool that I had forgotten about in my stash. I bought them years ago for a project that I never did. I put some beads on the rabbit and I think it looks very cute!

The next photos are from my garden. My angel trumpets, brugmansia, are glorious this year! These come back every year and bloom in late summer. I only wish they would bloom earlier. Why do they have to wait until school starts and I don't get to enjoy them as much? The same for my fig trees. They only have ripe figs after school starts! I don't feel like making fig preserves after school has started and so they end up being bird food.

We are still missing Claws. I thank you all for your kind comments on his untimely passing.

Cute,Cute, Cute! Love them all. I can tell from the pic which one is the wool one, it looks soft and mushy...ah, I have a trained eye, you see...hahaha! Oh, I'm lovin' the bunny w/the rick rack...I've just got a thing for that stuff! Too cute!

Highly adorable pin cushions. I love the details on the rabbit. I know exactly what you mean about not having time for things after school starts. So much gets saved up for summer, but not everything will keep.

I was also very sad to hear about the passing of your Claws... It is funny how we become so attached to the little things in life.

You are so creative-- the pin cushions are adorable! I'd be fighting with those birds for figs--- they're very expensive here-I'm reading your blog backwards to catch up and find out what happened to Claws--
